Our History

Lifelong Learning Center was founded in 2008 by Mark and Nancy Barton to serve young adults with disabilities who 'age out' of the traditional public school system. Our public education system invested countless resources into these students for up to 18 years - from pre-school through transition at age 22.

Some of these students are able to obtain meaningful jobs for a few days a week and are able to support themselves with some assistance. However, many of these students are not prepared for a job or independent living at age 22.

Like all of us, just because they reach a certain age it does not mean these students can't continue to learn. The Lifelong Learning Center was founded to serve these students, to continue building on independent living skills and to provide a safe and fun program to continue to learn and to make friends.
